Our London-based BIFA qualifying British short film festival returns in 1st - 3rd September 2024.
A celebration of the best emerging British filmmaking talent with cutting-edge curation across entertaining and inspiring short film programmes.

We welcome British films from all genres of up to 25mins in duration to submit to our 10th anniversary festival. Events will take place across 2 venues: Rich Mix and Sidcup Storyteller from 1st - 3rd September. Our final submission deadline is 16th June.

About
Short Sighted Cinema was founded in 2013 by Kate Williamson and Gem Carmella over a shared love of short film. Now run by Gem Carmella it continues to be a recognised home for British short film with cutting-edge programming and events. Our annual BIFA qualifying festival The Shortest Nights is celebrated for showcasing the best in up-and-coming British filmmaking talent.

We regularly work with other organisations, festivals and cultural bodies to bring short film to fresh eyes with specially curated programmes. Previous collaborations and events have included work with London Short Film Festival, The BFI, The British Council and an annual short film commission with Talkies and HERE Suburban Film Festival.
